Signs your glove needs new interior leather

Candidates for this service typically exhibit one or more of the following issues:

  • Interior leather that is cracked, torn, peeling or flaking

  • Holes in the palm or finger stalls

  • A stiff, dried-out interior that is uncomfortable

  • Palm feels thin, worn down, or as if the padding has disappeared.

  • Thumb and/or pinky straps can no longer attach

Soft linings, like the sheepskin used in many premium gloves, are especially prone to wearing out.

What our services entail

Every glove is different. After we see your photos, we tell you what's realistic and what isn't. Typical work includes:

  • Take apart: remove all laces and detach your worn-out interior leather

  • Custom interior leather rebuild: cut and and install new interior leather to your glove's unique pattern

  • New straps and binding: all new thumb and pinky straps, binding to attach the new interior

  • Full relace: all new laces; match your lace color from our stock or pick something new

What is an interior leather replacement? A complete custom rebuild of your glove’s interior leather—the part your hand comes into contact with. Customers often refer to this area as the padding because, as the leather deteriorates, the glove can begin to feel like it has lost its cushioning. Replacing the worn interior with new, high-quality leather can often restore the glove’s original comfort and feel.

This service includes all-new interior leather, thumb and pinky straps, new binding, and a complete relace.

How much does an interior leather replacement cost? It starts at $165, and that includes the full relace. Mail-in return shipping is a flat $25. Exact price comes with your quote.

How long does it take? Interior replacements can take 2–4 days once your glove arrives at our shop. Shipping time each way is separate.

Can you replace the interior on any brand? Yes. Rawlings, Wilson, Mizuno, Japanese brands, vintage gloves and more. Submit a couple of photos and we will let you know what we can do.

Do you fix the outside leather too? This service rebuilds the inside of the glove. If the outer leather has tears, rips or holes, we can repair those as well. Send photos and we'll quote everything together.

Do you accept mail-in from out of state? Yes. Mail-in is welcome from anywhere (U.S. and abroad). Request a quote first; we reply within 24 hours with price and the off-site shipping address.
